Style Guides & Tone of Voice

This is a secret weapon in scaling. It’s easy to inhabit your own style, but do you know how to describe it? When it comes to engaging others to create content on your behalf, “but make it in my voice” isn’t enough. I can help reduce the rounds of revision and back and forth by creating a living guide to your brand.

Sample Style Guide Project Proposal

Here’s how I scoped out a brand discovery and packaging project for a recent client.

Includes comprehensive review of your current branding and marketing materials followed by a one-hour discussion to dig into your value proposition, ideal audience(s), competitors, etc. Deliverables include:

  • Strategic market positioning to define:

    • Market category

    • Track record

    • Audience/ideal customer(s) and their typical pain points

    • Brand promise

  • Brand positioning statement (internal)

  • Mission statement (external)

  • Style guide (tone of voice; look book; optimal expression of brand identity, vision and values) to guide future projects and outside partners

Of course, I’m happy to tailor a plan specifically for your brand’s needs; just reach out and let me know what you’re thinking!
