Hey, there!

I’m Meg White, founder of Lady in a Box Studios. I grew up in Minneapolis, a theater kid obsessed with writing, painting and photography. Today I use my masters in journalism and marketing expertise to help businesses and organizations with their content and branding needs. I also supply homes and offices with functional art from my studio in the Albany Park neighborhood of Chicago.

I’m delighted to share my space, brain and heart with my wonderful and talented husband and my two sweet but shiftless cats. In my spare time, I brew beer, tend a feral vegetable garden, cook up a mean meal and volunteer as a communications leader for urbanist and educational nonprofits.

My approach

When starting a new project, my first question is almost always, “Who is this for?” When you try to create content for everyone, it’ll resonate with no one.

That’s why I always approach writing, editing and marketing from the audience's perspective. I take a deep dive into the distinct needs of the end user, positioning content and products as a solution to those needs.

Praise

Curious what it’s like to work with me? Here are some reactions from other real, live people whom I’ve worked with in the past:

“Meg is patient, thoughtful, and open to feedback. … She also asks a lot of questions to help me nail down changes I’m going to try to implement. … In short, I’m massively grateful for her! She’s brilliant, and I’d be lost without her guidance and support.”

〰️

“Your edits impress me so much because they are small tweaks that pack a big punch. Even your emails blow me away. … I am also grateful for your delivery. When you say you are going to do something, you actually do it.”

〰️

”Meg, you are super collaborative. I appreciate that you explain your thought process and invite input often.”

〰️

”You excel at leading with solutions. You always bring an idea for every hole you poke, and you take it a step further than that. You bring the idea for the solution as well as ways to implement it.”

〰️

”You notice small details and inconsistencies that they don't even consider.”
