art for the way we live.

A lifelong thrifter and vintage shop denizen, I have a deep passion for reuse and intense distaste for waste. That’s why, in addition to transformative content services, Lady in a Box Studios offers one-of-a-kind, functional art for your home and office. Inspired by the vintage magazines and antique marketing ephemera that adorn them, these repurposed objects speak to the past with an eye on creating a future we can all be proud of.

Below you’ll see what’s in stock and ready to send (shipping included!). Follow me on Instagram to see what I’m working on next.

Frequently asked questions

All artwork for sale here is created in-house by founder and 100% human being, Meg White. She works out of Lady in a Box Studios in the beautiful Albany Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. If you are interested in a custom piece or have a question that’s not addressed in the FAQ, please get in touch!

  • I repurpose old containers and objects giving them new life with Mod Podge and paper. Click on the product images above for details. Most of the paper comes from my vast collection of vintage magazines and decommissioned books. I then seal most of my art with a water-resistant spray, also made by Mod Podge.

  • Yes, Mod Podge is a water-based, non-toxic sealer, glue and finish. However, it is not food-safe, so please do not use anything from the shop to serve edible items, and do not place art in your mouth.

  • Most of the art in the shop has been treated with a waterproof spray (please click on the product images above for finish details on each piece). However, I prefer to think of these items as water resistant. Prolonged, repeated exposure could result in deterioration of the finish. Also, note that direct exposure to the sun may cause fading of the imagery over time.

  • Nope! The only place you can buy this one-of-a-kind art is right here on the studio’s website.

  • If an item is damaged or lost in shipping, I’m happy to refund you. But due to the fact that I’m working with paper products that are sometimes as much as 100 years old, you will find “imperfections” in every one of my works. Please click on the product images above for details on each piece. I take many photos with a professional and macro lenses so that all my clients can see what they’re getting prior to purchase. But if you want a different POV of any particular item, please reach out and I’ll send you more pics or measurements.
